1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to site owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and web beacons.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies PulseIntel uses, why we use them, and how you can control your preferences. For broader information about how we handle your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes, grouped into categories:
2.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website and Service to function. They cannot be disabled because the Service would not work without them.
- Firebase Auth session cookie (
__session): Used to maintain your authenticated session when you are logged in to the PulseIntel web dashboard. This is a first-party, HTTP-only cookie that expires with your session or on sign-out. - CSRF protection tokens: Used to prevent cross-site request forgery attacks. These are session-scoped and deleted when you close your browser.
- Cookie consent preference (
cookie-consent): Stored inlocalStorageto remember your cookie consent choice (Accept or Reject) so we do not display the consent banner on subsequent visits.
Legal basis: Strictly necessary cookies are processed under our legitimate interest in operating a functional and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). No consent is required for strictly necessary cookies.
2.2 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. We use analytics data to improve the website experience and our product.
- Status: Analytics cookies are not currently loaded on the PulseIntel marketing website. When we implement analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar), we will update this policy and only load analytics scripts after you have provided explicit consent via our cookie consent banner.
Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking “Reject” on our cookie consent banner or clearing your browser cookies.
2.3 Functional Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage (not cookies) to store your preferences for the website user interface. These do not transmit data to third parties and are stored only on your device.
- Cookie consent choice: Your Accept/Reject decision is stored in
localStorageunder the keycookie-consent. - UI preferences: Sidebar state and layout preferences within the web dashboard may be stored in
localStoragefor a better experience on return visits.
3. Third-Party Cookies
When analytics or third-party tools are configured (for example, Google Analytics, Hotjar, or HubSpot tracking), those services may set their own cookies on your device. Third-party cookies are subject to the respective provider's privacy policy.
Important: We only load third-party scripts after you have accepted analytics cookies via our consent banner. If you reject cookies, no third-party analytics scripts will be loaded into your browser.
Currently configured third-party cookie services:
- None — analytics and tracking scripts are pending configuration. This section will be updated when third-party services are enabled.
4. Chrome Extension Storage
The PulseIntel Chrome extension does not use HTTP cookies. Instead, it uses Chrome's browser storage APIs:
chrome.storage.local: Stores data on your device for the extension's use. Data inchrome.storage.localis not transmitted to PulseIntel servers unless explicitly required by a feature (e.g., syncing a cached prospect profile).chrome.storage.sync: Stores a small amount of settings data that Chrome can sync across your signed-in Chrome browsers. This is subject to Chrome's own sync settings.
Chrome extension storage is governed by the permissions you grant when installing the extension, and is covered in detail in our Privacy Policy (Sections 2.6 and 12).
5. Managing Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:

localStorageand enables analytics scripts to load on that and subsequent page visits. - Reject: Clicking “Reject” records your rejection in
